International Trade

Successful international trade lobbying requires building relationships with the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee, as well as the U.S. Trade Representative. RR&G has helped clients reduce tariffs worldwide, obtain refunds of unwarranted customs duties, change tariff classifications, and expedite customs clearance at U.S. ports.

We have extensive experience with entry, classification and valuation, and other Customs and import relief measures. Walter Raheb has extensive experience conducting international anti-counterfeiting investigations.

RR&G recently completed an effort to protect the patents, copyrights, and trademarks of a major U.S. brand holder in China and Hong Kong. Our investigation was designed to uncover and shut down both the retail distribution network and the manufacturing facilities of the counterfeiters. Working with our local investigators and Chinese law enforcement, we ensured that all enforcement actions needed were used including raid action.

In some cases we may also seek injunctive relief to stop infringing material upon exportation from China or importation into the U.S. In 1999-2000, Walter Raheb successfully led a similar investigation for the Bose Corporation in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

As countries align themselves into regional trading blocs, RR&G increasingly represents clients simultaneously in Europe, Asia, and the United States through partnerships with overseas firms with whom we have proven relationships.
